Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This paper presents partial results of a project in which we studied the institutional perspective of the use of communication technologies in supporting learning in the Portuguese public higher education system. It presents the context of the study and methodological guidance, following the presentation of results. These are based on data obtained from 639 teachers and 31 institutional managers who responded to an online questionnaire. The results for six indicators on the training of teachers and on the teacher’s management, including incentives and reward related with their use of communication technologies supporting learning, are presented. These results are discussed and the main conclusions are given, with emphasis on evidence of a contrasting scenario between the opinions of institutional managers (generally positive) and teachers (generally negative) and also contrasting positions between the responses of teachers of the two sub- systems of the Portuguese higher education system, being less favorable the opinion of teachers of polytechnic sub-system in relation to the teachers from universities, particularly with regard to teacher training.
