Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This article focuses on the young people of Funchal, their representations about youth, their active participation and municipal youth policies. We mobilized an analysis of a mixed nature, combining techniques of a qualitative and quantitative nature. Methodologically, the research started with the analysis of documents, from the local to the international scope, related to youth participation policies. In a second moment, the young people of Funchal were surveyed, through the application of a questionnaire survey, which had 1259 responses. The information collected allowed the performance of simple statistics and also the content analysis of the answers to the open questions. The results highlight the importance of youth participation processes in the construction of the city and in the formulation of public policies for youth. The involvement of all agents in the co-creation of a strategy that reflects a shared vision for the city is also valued.
