Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This study aimed to evaluate the practice of mindfulness, satisfaction, and well- being of workers in a sample of 272 respondents. The Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, and the Generic Job Satisfaction Scale were applied. The results of our study show that the practice of meditation and/or mindfulness exercises in daily activity positively influences satisfaction with life and well- being,as well as job satisfaction, with statistically significant differences between those who practice and those who do not. The marital status of the respondents is also a determinant of the level of satisfaction with life and work. The results are corroborated by several renowned international studies, which leads us to conclude that programs for the introduction of meditation and/or mindfulness in academic curricula can be easily transposed to the Portuguese reality since the levels and statistically significant differences found show similarities between respondents from various countries.
