Resumo:The Tamera’s teaching experience of the Optional UC – Collective Housing - from the Integrated Master Degree in Architecture (2011-2012), of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism – ISCTE-IUL was with any doubts an exceptional expertise in the context of the Portuguese university teaching. Being a joint venture project between Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL), the Faculty of Design and the Technology Technische Universitat Darmstadt (TUD) and Tamera Community (Monte do Cerro, Alentejo), the Tamera’s workshop implemented the international and interdisciplinary teams work for both universities . The theme - Collective Housing for Tamera - was a conceptual background for the realization of a project where the main goal was to create a model of collective life to respond adequately to the Tamera’s Community. In the context of intense teamwork, students from ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon) and TUD (Darmstadt) worked together with teachers and community members on collective housing proposals where the desired investigation focus was putted outside the traditional approach.
