Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This thesis sets out to understand how EU crisis management evolved and why. To do so, it undertakes a comparison between how the EU managed the Syrian refugee crisis in 2015 and the Ukrainian refugee crisis in 2022. Framing this research is the question of: How do the EU's approach and policies towards the Syrian refugee crisis differ from those towards the Ukrainian refugee crisis? This is the guiding research question of this thesis. Through an analysis of the nature of the two conflicts, the number of refugees arriving in EU territory, and the policies and measures applied by the EU and national responses, it seeks to help us better understand the reasons for employing distinct approaches and regulations to manage both refugee crises.
