Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This article discusses the presence of university manuscripts for the study of theology in the Monastery of Alcobaça library. Some were copied in the pecia system and can therefore be placed within the context of the University of Paris in the second half of the thirteenth century, specifically at the College of St Bernard. The acquisition of these manuscripts by the monks of Alcobaça accompanied the growing importance attributed by the Cistercians to university studies from the same period onwards. This also extends to reflecting on the cultural dynamism of this monastery.
