Loucas relações entre Clemente XIV e Pombal sobre a extinção da Companhia de Jesus

Resumo:The author, based on the documents published at the Collecção dos Negocios de Roma... and Portugal em Roma, the last one edited by José de Castro, considers the correspondence between the pope Clement XIV and Marquis of Pombal from 1769 to 1774. This correspondence documents the communication between both them, involving mutual change of gifts and expressions of courtesy. The article points out the correspondence referring the process of elaboration and transmission of the brief Dominus ac Redemptor, which extinguishes the Company of Jesus, and the roll of the Commentator Francisco de Almada de Mendonça (cousin of Marquis of Pombal) and Mons. Vicente Macedónio (Secretary of the Congregation of Rites) in this very process.
