Resumo:Injuries in soccer can have a decisive impact on a team's success. If injuries are associated with players' absence of sport practice, it is rightful to intervene in order to minimize the likelihood of injuries occurrence. Having said this, firstly it is needed to distinguish injuries according their incidence and severity. Then, understanding the factors and mechanisms associated with injuries. Lastly, create preventive strategies in order to reduce injuries incidence. In this way, the role I have performed in the team context have fundamentally been focused on the training planning for the optimization of certain physical abilities, with the purpose of improving the players' performance and, therefore, preventing possible injuries. The internship has helped me to realize that the concerned training could be a fundamental completion in the soccer training process. Players feel more confident in their ability to play and, consequently, improve their performance. In this report, a study was also carried out. The theme was related to hamstring strains in soccer. The purpose was to compare and evaluate the effects of different training methods on the eccentric peak torque of the knee flexors, the biceps femoral muscle architecture and the force-velocity profile in soccer players. Regarding the results obtained in the study, no statistical analysis showed statistically significant improvements on the assessed variables, being unable to compare and prove the effectiveness of both training methods applied.
