Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The accent of the analysis lays on the text: Respuesta Apologetica. Al Libro que escri/vió Don Alonso de Zepeda que intitúlo De/fensa de los terminos, y doctrina De / Raimundo / Lulio (cf. ms Amsterdam EH 48 E 42, f. 1r), that is Orobio's second replica to Alonso de Zepeda's invective (Brussels, 1666). Although the text is substantially unpublished, we focused on the remaining manuscript collection to seek the Philosophical and Theological contributions, present in the text, that suggest a way to achieve the knowledge of the divine. In such framework, we sought to outline the features that structure the order of being, of knowledge and of language, in relation to the Lullian legacy and to the Jewish tradition. That textual residue underlies the whole controversy, integrating, broadly speaking, the eclectic intellectual context of Isaac Orobio de Castro's itinerary. In the self-contouring, made by the world roaming, Orobio's work was born from the adversity and the interweaving - or confrontation - between ideas and sources. Thus, the architecture of the author's thought is given to know as a combinatorial work, through a dialectic that, driven by contingency, strives to establish a truth. By means of those philosophical interpellation and textual study, Orobio de Castro's argumentative strategy is finally suggested by the discursive elements of the apology and the tradition that himself represents. The disputatio happens in a "post-scholastic" environment, that was steeped in differing references that, nonetheless, the author uses to refute Zepeda.
