Videoconferencing in RCTS
| Resumo: | RCTS is a new generation network. It uses a optical backbone, which allow ultra-high bandwidth data transfers. It reaches all the Portuguese Universities and Polytechnic institutions. FCCN, as network manager provides and promotes last generation innovative services among these institutions. Videoconference is a service promoted by FCCN integrated in its Advanced Services Area. This article describes some of FCCN projects undertaken in the last 10 years and presents also the most recent Videoconference services. It describes the process that has motivated and created the RCTS Videoconference Network as well some of the use cases that it enable for all its users. |
