Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This paper presents the experience of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) with its first Transformative Agreement signed with a major international publisher in 2024. In the first year of the agreement, 97% of the available APCs were used, resulting in 92 publications, 90% of which appeared in high-impact journals (Q1 and Q2). Additionally, 33.33% of the publications involved international collaborations, increasing the visibility of UNICAMP research. There was also an 11% increase in access to the publisher's journals from 2023 to 2024, indicating greater reach of the content made available. Most publications were concentrated in the areas of Life Sciences and Medicine (61.11%), Engineering and Technology (31.11%), Social Sciences (30.00%), Natural Sciences (22.22%), and Humanities (7.78%). The initiative contributed to the growth of the university's open access publications with the publisher, rising from 40% in 2023 to 63% in 2024. The results demonstrate the potential of Transformative Agreements to democratize scientific publishing and reduce financial barriers, and also serve as a reference for future institutional and national open access policies.
