Locating cells in histological images using active shape models

Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Digital image analysis is being increasingly used in many application areas. This paper presents a study of the Active Shape Models and their application for locating cells in histological images. The paper begins with the choice of the class of objects to bemodelled including their variations. It follows with the description of the statistical modelling technique and the iterative updating algorithm used to locate corresponding objects within the target image. The paper concludes with a results section where segmented nuclei and cytoplasm are presented within a set of different target images.
