Transmitter position error impact on camera based visible light positioning systems
| Resumo: | This paper analyses the impact of fixture measure-ment uncertainty on the position estimation error in a camera-based Visible Light Positioning (VLP) system. The system is comprised of four light fixtures, placed at a height of 2.7 m, and a camera, placed across a 1m x 1m grid on the floor. We present an error sensitivity analysis, introducing a measurement error on a single fixture and studying the positioning error behaviour over each coordinate. We also present a statistical approach, based on Monte-Carlo method, where we introduce a normally distributed error on all fixtures. The results show that the considered algorithm magnifies the fixture position uncertainty by around eight times. |
