Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The ocean ecosystem plays an important role in our culture and communities, yet, pollution keep plaguing it. Some of the issues it currently faces are harmful algal blooms, plastics and oil spilling. Traditional methods fail to properly detect them, either at all, or in time to apply effective countermeasures. Remote sensing with hyperspectral cameras, specially high band sensors mounted on UAVs, bring a new paradigm to ocean monitoring. In this work, their effectiveness is investigated on the detection and identification of the aforementioned contaminants, camouflage and boats, alongside the development of software for hypercube analysis that enabled their successful detection and identification in hard to detect environments.
