Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The migration of radio, traditionally restricted to FM, to new digital environ-ments, where websites, social networks and mobile applications surround, has become the new oasis of radio communication. Many have praised the transition that radios have made to digital, however, this optimism coexists with many doubts, either by the difficult profitability or by the huge effort that this technical transition requires from broadcasters. This article is based on a case study of Rádio Onda Viva, in Póvoa de Varzim, the first broadcaster in this municipality, which started as a pirate radio station, but, with the Radio Law of 1989, managed to obtain a licence and remains active until today. The observation of the digital transition of this historical broadcaster allowed us to un-derstand that the online presence of this local radio station is quite strong, but the tra-ditional FM broadcast still remains the priority. It was also perceived that, occasionally, it tries to expand geographically both broadcasts (traditional and online), and interact more with listeners; however, it lacks more durable and effective interaction strategies.
