Thermal behavior of phase change fibers for urban heat island effect mitigation
| Resumo: | [Excerpt] Portugal is the country most affected by thermal discomfort in Europe, with over 38.0% of its population lacking adequate thermal comfort at home. This study highlights the urgent need for solutions to improve energy efficiency and living conditions. Phase Change Fibers (PCFs) offer a sustainable solution, addressing thermal discomfort year-round by reducing reliance on heating and cooling systems by using the principle of latent heat to store and release energy. |
