Denúncia de maus-tratos: barreiras e facilitadores na perceção de profissionais
| Resumo: | Reporting child maltreatment is an ethical and legal duty for professionals in education, health, and social services, playing a decisive role in child protection. However, the literature shows persistent underreporting, reflecting individual, institutional, and contextual barriers that hinder reporting decisions. This dissertation project proposes a systematic review of the literature, following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, with the aim of synthesizing empirical evidence on the factors that hinder or facilitate child maltreatment reporting by mandated professionals. International databases (Scopus, Web of Science. and PsycINF0) will be searched for the period between 2015 and 2024, including publications in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The theoretical framework is based on Bronfenbrenner's ecological model, which conceptualizes reporting as a practice shaped by the interaction of multiple levels of influence: individual, organizational, and sociocultural. Expected findings include recurrent barriers such as fear of retaliation, legal uncertainty, and lack of institutional support, as well as consistent facilitators, including specialized training, clear reporting protocols, and interprofessional collaboration. Synthesizing this evidence will contribute to strengthening. professional training, clarifying interinstitutional procedures, and supporting public policies that promote a culture of responsible and effective reporting. |
