Higher mode effects in pushover analysis of irregular masonry buildings

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The paper presents a study on the seismic behavior of irregular unreinforced masonry buildings, aiming at evaluating the effects of higher modes. First, the macroelement model implemented in the TREMURI software and used in this study was validated, based on shake table tests. Then, the extended N2 method, taking into account the in-plan and in-elevation irregularities, was applied to two case studies and compared with respect to the nonlinear dynamic analysis. The results showed that the method is able to simulate correctly the seismic response of both irregular masonry buildings.
