OntoSINAES: an ontology network for the national evaluation system of higher education in Brazil
| Resumo: | Usually ontologies are not studied as isolated systems. From the point of view of ontology engineering, any ontology must be organized in order to be able to integrate a network of ontologies. However, this is not always simple. In certain situations it is necessary to clarify how the network of ontologies is made and document how that can be accomplished. In this work we analyze and discuss the role of a network of ontologies for publishing open data and connected to the Web from the empirical reality of the National Higher Education Evaluation System in Brazil. Thus, in this article we will briefly describe the domain of this evaluation system, as well as the evaluation process of higher education institutions, in order to demonstrate the relevance of the explicit formalization of relations that guarantee the interconnection of ontologies within a network and emphasize the importance of ontology engineering for successful projects in this context. |
