Active learning classrooms I - The alignment between teaching and space from the perspective of institutional management

Summary:This article explored the relationship between teaching, the physical learning environment and the institutional organization in the André Cruz de Carvalho Active Learning Room at the University of Minho. The study followed a qualitative and interpretative approach. It included an interview with a member of the institutional management of the University of Minho who was involved in designing the Active Learning Room. The results highlighted the importance of alignment between teaching and the teaching space to create an engaging learning experience in the Active Learning Room. Furthermore, research has highlighted the importance of considering the perspectives of different stakeholders when planning innovative educational environments. The Active Learning Room at the University of Minho is an inspiring example of how this integration can create an environment conducive to high-quality education, highlighting the importance of collaboration, flexibility, and interoperability.
