O Home Studio e o Arranjador Moderno - Relato Sobre a Produção de Dois Temas Musicais
| Resumo: | This artistic project report is based on the production of two songs – A Bela e a Fera (Chico Buarque/Edu Lobo) and Em Paz (Léo Rocha) – through the use of virtual instruments, that will be used as reference for musicians and technicians in future records. Aspects of the technical/creative process are related as well as the conception of the arrangements, search for intended sound and registration of ideas on the computer. The development of the technology applied to music implies, as consequence, the amplification of the musical possibilities. The emergence of the home studio is a remarkable example of that. The artifice of audio recording/edition, that in other times were a distant luxury for most people, becomes increasingly accessible with the possibility of having a customizable workstation that is able to complete operations that are fundamental in music production. Based on this context, this project allows to explore subjects that permeate the elaboration and crafting of songs in the popular music panorama, such as arrangement, technology and musical production. Those subjects are investigated from a historical/theoretical perspective in the State of The Art section and developed as a report in the practical chapters of the research. The study about the relation between the arranger and the home studio is based, also, in my experience as a musician and producer in the past few years. As a result of this research, two songs are presented in audio format, along with complementary sheet music. |
