Artificial intelligence in early detection and preparation of crisis management: analyzing potentials and limitations to strengthen top management responses in business resilience
| Resumo: | This study examines Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Crisis Management (CM), particularly in crisis detection, decision-making, strategy implementation, and learning. Using quantitative interviews and a systematic literature review, it assesses AI's effectiveness in CM under extreme conditions and its autonomy levels. The findings suggest AI's limited efficacy in severe crises, its varied potential in CM phases, and mixed results at the operational level. Although some AI applications are effective, human intervention remains crucial in crisis contexts. The research highlights the need for further exploration of AI's limitations, including data biases and the challenges of mimicking human interactions. |
