Resumo:"Cancer is a complex entity that dynamically interacts with its host through the tumor microenvironment (TME). Among the network of cells that constitute the TME, immune cells play crucial and contrasting roles in tumor progression. Specifically, immune cells can either fight cancer and eliminate tumor cells or support tumor progression and resistance to therapy. Thus, modulation of the immune system to fight cancer – immunotherapy – represents a revolutionary cancer therapy. (...)"
