Entre lingos: tradução indireta da obra Lingo para português europeu
| Resumo: | Indirect translation is not a novelty in the world of translation; however, it is still underexplored in the field of Translation Studies. This work aims to present an indirect translation proposal of Lingo, a non-fiction work by Gaston Dorren, with English as the Source Language (SL) and Portuguese as the Target Language (TL). The indirect translation proposal will be accompanied by a theoretical framework that explores the concepts, challenges, and strategies related to literary translation and indirect translation, serving as an introduction to the potential difficulties that may have arisen during the translation process. Afterwords, a critical analysis of concrete examples of translation choices will be included, such as linguistic and cultural adaptation, focusing on the decisions made throughout the process to ensure the quality and adequacy of the translation. Finally, a there will be a final reflection on indirect translation, more precisely its benefits and limitations, as well as the conclusions regarding its implementation. |
