Cultural challenges of the German market when operating a platform for donation-based crowdfunding
| Resumo: | This work project investigates German habits and culture to understand the current challenges for donation-based crowdfunding platforms on the example of the French-based company Leetchi, which operates in the German market. The methodology used comprises customer surveys, customer analysis and secondary research. The preference for cash payments, mistrust in the branch, the gap in customer education and the protective behavior of personal data lead to obstacles for the FinTech branch. Therefore, a company’s strategy and practices have to be adjusted in a way to match Germans habits and expectations. Coupled with an increase in customer education and a focus on personal data, a platform can gain competitive advantages in the long-term. |
