Web scraping for the retail Industry: a study of the zero value added tax measure through time
| Resumo: | This report exhibits a study of price behavior and dynamics on e-commerce websites of the Retail and Travel Industry. More specifically, it aims to assess the effects of the 0% VAT governmental measure in the Retail Industry, by web scraping the companies’ websites for several days to collect the data. In the Retail Industry, the VAT represents the testing feature, while in the Travel Industry the features are device, operating system (OS), browser and time of the day. Furthermore, it discusses relevant practices on prices in these industries, plus the respective laws and ethics associated. |
