Venture capital impact on patenting in the biotechnology industry
| Resumo: | The following research analyses and assess the impact of Venture Capital in the application of patents in the biotechnology sector in Europe, from 2006 to 2019. The factors analysed are venture capital investments and research and development expenditures. The result of this work project is compared to what was previously determined in Kortum and Lerner's research across twenty industries in the US. The results of this empirical demonstrate how Venture Capital investments have a positive impact on influencing the patenting application in the biotechnology industry. |
