The existence of many data sources, with different data details, pose a challenge to the analysis of FDI in its various dimensions. The main contribution of this study is to apply the network analysis methodology, to construct a presentation of the European Network FDI, identifying patterns, establishing trends and describing the relations between different countries over time. The position of Portugal in this EU network is also assessed. The results are presented by using specific visualisation tools that graphically illustrate the interlinkages between the economies.
