Empowering change: exploring the influence of religious affiliations on women´s political participation in Guinea Bissau

Resumo:This paper draws from a 2018 opinion poll, Vozes do Povo, to lead an incursion into the intricate context of gender equality and women's political participation in Guinea-Bissau. The analysis reveals that religious affiliation significantly influences women's political participation, because, while the influence of Christianity appears to be limited, Islam and Animism exhibit negative associations with various aspects of political engagement.
