La documentación notarial como fuente para la investigación de las movilidades forzadas.
| Summary: | El presente trabajo aporta una recopilación de documentos notariales relativos al tráfico de esclavos en el Atlántico a través de las islas Canarias durante el último cuarto del siglo XVI. A partir de un estudio sistematizado de las escribanías de la isla de Tenerife para este periodo, hemos localizado treinta escrituras referentes a movilidades forzadas de esclavos y que hemos transcrito para este artículo. El objetivo de este compendio documental es contribuir al abordaje de las relaciones mercantiles atlánticas, especialmente durante la frontera temporal en la que se instituye la Unión Ibérica, y ampliar la información disponible sobre diversas cuestiones de índole social relativas a este trato, tanto sobre los esclavos como sobre los tratantes. This research presents a compilation of notarial documents on the slave trade in the Atlantic via the Canary Islands during the last quarter of the 16th century. From a systematic study for this period of the notarial documentation of Tenerife, thirty scriptures were found referring to forced mobilities of slaves and these have been transcribed for this article. The objective of this documentary compendium is to contribute to the approach of the Atlantic mercantile relations, especially during the period of constitution of the Iberian Union, and to expand the available information on various relative social issues about this treatment, both on slaves and traffickers. |
