Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Autonomous driving has appeared in recent years as an alternative to conventional driving, with high expectations in combating these numbers, allowing for significant increases in safety, comfort, reduction of pollution and traffic jams to be expected. The number of accidents and the resulting mortality rates reach alarming values, with significant increases in recent years. These occurrences are mainly due to the human factor and their own negligence in driving, reaching records in the order of 90% in the culpability and responsibility of road disasters. Despite the great advances in technology that already exist, according to most major brands/manufacturers, there are several impediments for autonomous driving to be common in our daily lives, where ethical issues are assumed to be one of the main causes of resilience to the acceptance of self-driving cars. After we start to investigate this topic, for a more complete study, we consider it important to choose five ethical frameworks and to consider topics such as safety, cost, trust and behavioral intention, as topics that affect the acceptance of autonomous cars. To test that, we proposed a model based on literature review about the topics and we used SEM-PLS for data analysis. After the analysis, the study demonstrates us that people have different positions about the ethical frameworks and show us that nowadays these ethical frameworks don’t have a direct impact on the intention of use of these cars, we also conclude that the most significant topic is Behavior Intention (intention of use) to Self-Driving Cars Acceptance. To comprehend this, is essential to understand the role of Safety and the role of Cost, if we understand how we can promote these topics in self-driving cars, they will affect positively the intention to use Self-Driving Cars, and with that we will maximize the acceptance of self-driving cars in our society, which was the goal of this study.
