Resumo:The common part, which includes case and teaching note, covers pharmaceutical leader Novo Nordisk and its global rise through GLP-1 therapies such as Ozempic and Wegovy. Students explore the firm’s business model, sources of competitive advantage, and strategic dilemmas using structured frameworks and instructor-led analysis. The case highlights how even the most successful healthcare companies face pressure, from global demand surges to regulatory scrutiny and supply limitations. The individual parts assess different dimensions of this pressure. The first study investigates how Novo Nordisk’s pricing strategies adapt across diverse healthcare systems, evaluating the trade-offs between innovation, access, and profitability. The second study focuses on the global supply shortages of GLP-1 drugs, analyzing how the company manages operational risk and supply chain resilience amid explosive demand and structural constraints.
