Blockchain adoption for supply chains in the automotive industry
| Resumo: | The automotive supply chains are mainly characterized by their centralized system. The industry is invested in digitization, seeking emerging technologies to respond to daily challenges. The present study aims to understand whether adopting blockchain technology improves trust among stakeholders inserted in automotive supply chains, increasing transparency and traceability of parts. The research framework implemented considers how blockchain can improve the overall trust in the automotive supply chains. Data gathered from 164 individuals is analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0. The results highlight that Perceived Ease of Use, Top Management Support, and Trust Among Supply Chain Stakeholders positively influence the Attitude Towards Using Blockchain. Moreover, Transparency and Traceability of parts positively contribute to building such trust among partners. This study offers valuable insight into the application of blockchain technology for the automotive supply chain, improving and promoting a stable and more reliable environment. With that, the centralized automotive industry can confidently invest in blockchain for better supply and demand processes. |
