Cross-generational perspectives on purpose - generations y and z in Germany
| Resumo: | The term "Purpose Generation" increasingly characterizes Millennials and Generation Z, whose entry into the workforce reshapes organizational priorities towards value-driven employment. This study explores cross-generational perspectives on individual purpose within Germany's FMCG sector. Through 12 semi-structured interviews, it examines how both generations perceive and apply purpose. While both generations emphasize the importance of purpose in life and work, they differ in influences and application: Gen Z focuses on personal achievements and pivotal life events, while Millennials are motivated by curiosity and family. This research addresses a critical gap in literature by exploring these lived experiences and perceptions. |
