Ryanair Vs. Wizz air: revenue and cost driver analysis with respect to the Covid-19 pandemic and post-Covid implications
| Resumo: | The purpose of this thesis is to analyse which of the two low-cost carrier, Ryanair or Wizz Air is better prepared for post-Covid. Desk research, and primary research were conducted. Although Ryanair was more affected by the pandemic, the airline responded more effectively through cost-reduction measures than Wizz Air. Further, Ryanair was more profitable in financial year 2021, mainly driven by higher averageload-factors. Experts believe that Ryanair is better prepared for the post-Covid market, even though Wizz Air will gain significant market share, which is also reflected in the market, as forward-looking multiples rate Wizz Air higher than Ryanair. |
