Resumo:In an era characterized by heightened global uncertainties and an escalating emphasis on sustainable practices, financial institutions encounter the intricate challenge of aligning risk mitigation strategies with sustainable development goals. This research employs a combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies, to scrutinize the current landscape of risk management and sustainability initiatives in the banking sector. The study aims to discern gaps and identify areas of synergy, examining the profound impact of significant events such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic and conflicts in the Middle East and Europe on the relationship between risk and sustainability. The entire investment forecast within this domain has necessitated substantial readjustments due to these influential events. Through an analysis of case studies and engagement with industry experts, this document conducts a thorough literature review, presenting diverse perspectives and thoughts on the evolving dynamics between risk management and sustainability in banking. By delving into the implications of recent global events, this research aims to contribute nuanced insights that facilitate a more integrated and resilient approach for financial institutions seeking to navigate the complex intersection of risk and sustainable development.
