Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This study investigates the internationalization of a German firm C.A. Weber into the Portuguese C&I market, focusing on analyzing its internationalization readiness by understanding why C.A. Weber is competitive domestically, and then assessing whether and how this configuration can be applied internationally. The analysis proceeds in two stages. First, Weber’s resource base, capabilities and business model are examined to explain the sources of its domestic competitiveness and to illustrate how resources are deployed to create and capture value in the German market. Second, the chapter assesses internationalization readiness by applying complementary theoretical lenses. Overall, the chapter concludes that Weber is not yet fully internationalization-ready; however, the identified gaps are structural and manageable, providing a clear roadmap for transforming domestic strengths into an internationally scalable configuration.
