After institution of intravenous antibiotherapy and before a decision on surgical therapy, fast recovery was observed after spontaneous rupture of the deep neck abscess to the oropharynx.A review of cellulitis and deep abscess of the neck was done, with special reference to Staphylococci aureus soft tissue infections.
