| Resumo: | After defining the major concepts in discussion and introducing the causes of floods, the Author explains the characteristics of flooding areas and the most important types of flood damages suffered by buildings. Finally, exemplifying with Portuguese case studies, he explains the housing rehabilitation and the measures which can be taken to minimize its necessity, with priority to prevention. |
