| Resumo: | After an introduction about floods in the whole of Povoação basin (S. Miguel, Azares Islands), the Authors analyse physical and human factors of these floods and geomorphical processes associated, namely the ones occurred in the channels. The study of the floods of the 14th December 1996 has taken the Authors into a reflexion about prediction and prevention of flash floods. |
