Climate change and risks in the mediterranean region. The need to adapt

Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Climate change is a planetary process that is having important effects in some regions of the world. The Mediterranean region is an excellent laboratory for studying global warming. Along with the constant rise in temperature recorded in recent decades, the main problem is the increase in the frequency of development of extreme atmospheric events that will increase risk condition in the region. The Iberian territory and its societies must adapt to the effects of climate change. Cities and economic activities have to plan their future development under the assumptions envisaged in climate modelling. This is the most important challenge facing the Mediterranean region throughout this century.
