Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This paper analyzes the operational efficiency of the Spanish hotel industry by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) under a restricted weights modeling framework. The study develops a novel approach to hotel efficiency evaluation that aims to overcome some limitations of conventional DEA models, specifically that several of the units assessed only considers one or some variables instead of all of them. This problem can be solved by applying weights restrictions in order to incorporate judgment values and increase the discriminating potential of the conventional DEA models.
