Hábitos alimentares durante a gravidez : identificação dos hábitos alimentares e fontes de informação consultadas pelas utentes da consulta pré-natal do Hospital de Santa Maria
| Resumo: | Objectives: To identify and evaluate the dietary intake during pregnancy and their adequacy according to the recommendations of the american Food and Nutricion Board. Identify sources of information on nutrition during pregnancy and evaluate their importance. Methods: It was applied a self-report questionnaire consisting of four parts: a) Sociodemographic characterization; b) Clinical characterization; c) Evaluation of information sources; d) Food Frequency Questionnaire. Subjects: Were surveyed 41 patients of Consulta Pré-Natal of the Department of Obstetrics, Ginecology and Reprodutive Medicine of the Hospital of Santa Maria in Lisbon, between September 16 and December 20, 2013, aged over 18 years old and gestational age over 35 weeks. Results: The main sources of information consulted were books/magazines, internet and the nursing team and the considered most important are the family doctor, obstetrician and nursing team. The intake of energy and macronutrients were within recommended levels for this period. The study identified low dietary intakes of fiber, vitamin D, vitamin E, folic acid and iron. There were more nutritional deficits in pregnant women with body mass index greater than 25kg/m2. |
