Diffuse dermal angiomatosis : a patient with an abdominal ulcer : case report

Ver documento

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Diffuse dermal angiomatosis (DDA) is characterized clinically by painful erythematous ulcers and histologically by a benign, diffuse, and self-limited proliferation of small blood vessels in the superficial layers of the reticular dermis. DDA is extremely rare and early correction of ischemia should be the initial approach in order to secure a successful treatment. We report a case of DDA presenting as an abdominal ulcer with a central necrotic plaque in a 59 yearold diabetic woman with hypertension, end-stage kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis and chronic liver disease. We attempted the inhibition of neoangiogenesis and surgical debridement although multiresistant bacterial infection resulted in a fatal outcome.
