Marcadores de lesão renal na nefropatia diabética

Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Diabetic nephropathy is an important health problem, since it is the leading cause of end stage renal disease. Earlier therapeutics can possibly slow this progression, thus it is important to identify early markers of renal injury. In patients with diabetes mellitus, even without the presence of microalbuminúria may be useful the early detection of other markers of kidney damage, including low molecular weight proteins or enzymes. New strategies for the detection of diabetic nephropathy, presented in this review, are mainly divided according to the pathogenic mechanisms that are often involved: tubulointerstitial injury, oxidative stress or inflammation. The evaluation of the urinary proteome may be a new marker of diabetic nephropathy.
