O ferro na escultura portuguesa do século XX

Resumo:Art has been a way, perhaps the only man to transcend himself in the pursuit of existential plenitude, dialogue impossible with the forces of nature and the cosmos, the gods, beings and things. Through the visual language, the man developed a particular way of interpreting reality and its surroundings. The art reflects its time, its history and its cultural environment. A variety of materials and technology used in the sculpture is vast and is constantly changing so we can put the world we live in to reflect. The use of iron and steel sculpture reflects the strength that is most notable characteristic of metals. This thesis attempts to make a script about the works / authors most important sculpture in iron, with their techniques. The history of these years of Portuguese sculpture production is characterized by the creation of a three-dimensional object that somehow expresses the ideas or emotions of the person who creates. However, there are circumstantial similarities between the authors. The Portuguese sculptors knew how to differentiate a certain autonomy in how they were resolved and reversed the stylistic influences dominate
