Novas terapêuticas não farmacológicas da perturbação do pós-stress traumático

Resumo:Post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that results from the experience or observation of a traumatic episode. There can be several underlying causes, including episodes of domestic or sexual violence, armed conflicts, civil wars or natural disasters. Depending on the intensity, type and duration of the event, the greater or lesser likelihood of developing PTSD. Regarding the therapy, there is pharmacological treatment and psychotherapy, and the various models of psychotherapy should be adjusted to the type of manifestations and symptoms associated with the PTSD patient. This article concerns the non-pharmacological therapies that are currently used, and the importance of new therapies that are emerging. Searching help in early stages of PTSD may prevent progression of the disease, thus avoiding addictive behaviors such as alcohol or drugs, thoughts, attitudes and self -and hetero- punitive.There are new approaches in the treatment of PTSD, including the use of virtual reality programs, to allow the patient to relive the traumatic event under controlled conditions.
