Resumo:From Rinko Kawauchi’s Photography to Abrigo is a Project centered on the image in itself, and on the inseparable relationship between imagination, memory and being, or between space and poetry. This project begins by analyzing A Nuvem do Não-Saber, written attributed to an anonymous English monk of the Carthusian Order (14th century); then, it focuses on Fragmentos de Novalis, pseudonym of Georg Philipp Friedrich von Hardenberg (18th century); and, finally, it examines the book, A Poética do Espaço, by Gaston Bachelard (20th century). The first two mentioned works mark the path that inexorably man will have to follow if he wants to return to his primordial and genuine condition of being: contemplative, poetic and, above all, as creative will and free. The third work highlights the fundamentally ontological character of the space which shelters and protects man in this process of rediscovering himself and returning to his intimacy. It is equally important to highlight the work of Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi whose images express the uniqueness, freedom, as well the ascetic and humble character underlying Art, which incessantly arouse delight, ecstasy and daydream. Art is enchantment and joy, or “well-being”. Abrigo, origin and corollary of this Project, is a photographic narrative. Some of the images come from a personal archive started in 2014 until 2021. All images refer to stories, not temporal or circumstantial, but stories of a poetic nature. These photographs house “tales” or memories, some of them intertwine like words in a poem, others center intimacy and mystery. In all of them underlies the function of “inhabiting”.
