Desempenho produtivo e reprodutivo de vacas Holstein-Frísia em comparação com os respectivos cruzamentos com vermelha sueca e Montbéliarde
| Resumo: | A comparison of 70 crossbred cows Montbéliarde (MB) x Holstein Friesian (HF), 70 Swedish Red (SR) x HF and 70 pure HF, for fertility, dystocia, postpartum diseases, body condition score (BCS) , somatic cell count (SCC), and 305 days projected milk, fat and protein production during their first 2 lactations was conducted. The cows studied were from two farms and data collection period was from late June until the end of December 2012. Although the HF was more early mating, crossbreed cows produced better results for fertility than the HF cows. The MBxHF cows showed better results for dystocia and BCS (9% and 3.3, respectively) than HF (19% and 3.08, respectively). Retained placenta showed no differences between genotypes, but for the metritis HF cows tended (P = 0.071) to be more affected than MBxHF cows. For SCC, milk yield, fat and protein for 305 days projected no significant differences were found. Therefore, the MB and SR are candidate breeds for crossbreeding with HF to improve the fertility. |
