Application of intensity analysis to model agricultural land use changes past decades
| Resumo: | The magnitude and extent of the past decades land use/land cover (LULC) changes have been compromising the ecosystem function and the ecological processes in many parts of the world. Since the end of the 20th century, the assessment of the changes in the LULC raised as a research field in several domains, e.g., land planning, environmental, political, economic, and social monitoring, among others. In this study, we applied intensity analysis, a mathematical framework that “compares a uniform intensity to observed intensities of temporal changes among land use categories”. In particular, the intensity analysis was used at two levels: interval and category to show the results of spatiotemporal change area of land used for agricultural activities between different periods. |
